全名：詹姆斯·卡格尼，英文名James
Cagney。1899年7月17日生于纽约，1986年3月30日逝于洛杉矶。演员，第15届奥斯卡影帝。AFI终身成就奖、肯尼迪中心荣誉奖得主。1984年卡格尼得到美国平民最高荣誉总统自由勋章。
詹姆斯1925年开始在百老汇的舞台剧中担任主角。1926年他开始和华纳兄弟公司签约，1931年因出演《人民公敌》（PUBLIC ENEMY）而成为明星。贫贱的出生使他有一种成名的强烈欲望，他对工作相当的认真，并不断尝试新的角色。1942年他在传记音乐片《胜利之歌》中的出色演出，从而获得了第十五届奥斯卡最佳男主角金像奖，此后他还试图导演一些电影。不过在商业上都不是很成功。在拍完《一二三》后他宣布息影，15年后他获得美国电影学院的颁发的第一个终身成就奖。于1986年3月30日逝世，终年八十七岁。

第九名：史宾塞.屈赛（Spencer Tracy）
全名：史宾塞.屈塞也译作斯宾塞.屈赛，英文名：Spencer Bonaventure
Tracy。1900年4月5日生于美国威斯康辛州密尔沃基，1967年6月10日因心脏病发作逝于洛杉矶。因其表演以含蓄自然著称，被誉为“演员中的演员”。奥斯卡历史上第一位连庄的影帝。
一战爆发时，斯宾塞·屈塞就读马奎特学院，加入了海军直到战争结束。此后，斯宾塞仍旧在弗吉尼亚诺福克海军港服役。退役后进入Ripon大学学习，因为舞台剧中主演十分成功所以决定从事表演事业。1931年来到好莱坞，1932年著名导演约翰·福特（John Ford）在看过他主演的影片《The Last Mile》中的精彩表演后为福克斯与他签下了片约，三年间共拍了16部影片。1935年与米高梅签下合约此后凭借1937年的《怒海余生》（Captains Courageous）和1938年的《孤儿乐园》（Boys Town）成为接连两年获得奥斯卡最佳男演员奖第一人。此外因为《火烧旧金山》（San Francisco）、《岳父大人》（Father of the Bride）、《黑岩喋血记》（Bad Day at Black Rock）、《老人与海》（The Old Man and the Sea）、《向上帝挑战》（Inherit the Wind）、《纽伦堡大审判》（Judgment at Nuremberg）和《猜猜谁来吃晚餐》（Guess Who's Coming to Dinner）七次获得奥斯卡提名。
斯宾塞.屈塞和凯瑟琳.赫本是好莱坞最有名的银幕情侣，共同出演过9部电影。他们也是生活伴侣，但从未结婚，因屈塞已有妻子，碍于宗教不能离婚，赫本一直默默在他身后陪伴，直至他过世。
